This is a symbol of these Olympic games.  Everytime you see it, it is made of something different.  Hard, Soft, Cold, Icey, Flat, Dimensional, Texturized etc.  The symbol is unmistakable wherever you see it!

The scenery in Canada is amazing.  If nothing else these games have made me want to visit there just to take in the scenery.

Olympic sized rings, small rings, medium rings they are everywhere you look during any Olympic Games.

After a long day of sking the slopes.   Going to grab a comfy chair by the fire?   What do you see?  Golden lights bouncing off of glittery snow.  Everything that glitters is not Gold even at the Olympic games.    How do you make your projects Sparkle and Shine?

The Torch Is Lit!

The schedule of events is set for our Olympic SIZED Challenge Evening on the 24th.  Have you been training?   Let me give you a hint so you know what to pack your backpacks, sports bags etc. with!   Make sure you have the equipment needed for your sport.  Warm Up Clothes, Water Bottle, Paper Trimmer, Scissors, Favorite Adhesives, Favorite Tools and Ink, Scraps, Current Projects, A Completed Project to share, wrist bands,  cheesey 70's headbands  etc. etc. etc. WAIT WAIT WAIT this is the WINTER OLYMPICS -  Ski Caps, Scarves, gloves, ski pants, casts, hot cocoa etc. etc. etc.  

Each day you will get a little more info on one event/challenge/tutorial to prepare you consider these a practice run!

In all of the events in the XXI Olympics there are these wonderful murals on the walls, the vests and everywhere you look.  Aren't they inspiring.  Why not pack a couple of papers in these colors you never know what challenge may occur?

No Scrappin This week! But Challenge Prep begins for Next week......

So no Scrappin this week I have to work Wed. But I will be doing prep work for next Wed.  We will have a challenge night.  What does that mean?  Pack your favorite Tools, Your Scraps you've been tossing aside lately and your current project there will be a number of challenges to get your juices flowing and get caught up on our card making.  This will be an evening of Olympic Proportions. 

Ok maybe I'm going a little over the top but you get the idea!  Have a nice week off!

Less than a week!

It's less than a week to Valentines!  We've have to make sure all of our Valentines are lined up!   Join us for a little extra work time this Wednesday and finish up those last minute projets!

New Year New Challenge

Wake Up Wake Up It's the New Year!   So to that end we have a New Challenge.  Well I mentioned last year late in the year but it's time to put it into practice.  So each week we meet we will make at least 2 cards 1 Christmas and 1 Birthday.  At the end of the year you will end up with 42 of each.  Now since maybe everyone doesn't need 42 Birthday or Christmas cards I think you should be able to change one out each week if you so choose to do so.  We don't meet the 3rd Wed. so that week you are welcome to work on your own and share here on the blog later.

Last Scrappy Day Before 2010

I hope everyone has had a wonderful and safe Holiday so far! 

We will be scrapping this Wednesday for the last time in 2009!  Sadness, Relief, or just plain ready to start a new Year!  The theme this week will be to complete an unfinished project.  Bring something you didn't get done in 2009 and get it done!

Thanksgiving Eve Scrapping

I know we're all panning for our family gatherings this week. Cleaning, scrubbing, planning, cooking, we may need a little break from all the hub bub! So we will be scrapping on Thanksgiving Eve even if it's just to take a breather from all of your preparations! Hope to see you!

Almost half way through November. We're all starting to make plans for the Holidays. Join us this week to work on projects for upcoming events or past events either way it's all good. Our challenge this week will be Catch Up only because we seem to be falling behind!

This is a great idea if you start at the beginning of the year you will have over 50 by the end of the next year. It's just 2 cards a week. Super simple right? So this week we are not scrapping we are going out to celebrate Dianne's Birthday. But after our dinner and PIE we can come back and scrap if everyone wants to anyone that can be here about 8:30 or 9ish is welcome.

All the leaves are falling! My yard is covered!!! I'm sure every one's yard is covered! Time for those fall leaf pictures outside frolicking or how about some beautiful trees changing color?

Time To Scrap

Wednesday is almost upon us! We are scrapping
this week.

Don't you just love a good hayride? I've never been on one with a truck pulling it where you could carry mugs of something hot in your lap like these people but I have been on enough hayrides to know how much fun they are! What is one of your favorite fall memories? How does that inspire you? We can scrap fall memories or make something else fall to remind us.

It was 80 yesterday and today it's fall! Just like that! BAM!

We are scrapping this week same time same place. Here is the weekly inspiration piece. A scene from Pottery Barn. Still some green but the colors are clearly starting to turn.

Ok so this week I would like to issue a scrap challenge. Whatever scraps are sitting on your workspace from this last week(I will clean mine off sorting the giant box today). Use those scraps to create a card or layout. Only scraps, you can add card stock for the background and once the base is built you can add one embellishment from your stash!

Scrap Challenge Wednesday

Ok DIANNE had a FABULOUS IDEA! Next Wed we are going to do a Challenge! Here is the deal. Each person that wants to play makes up a Baggie of items from paper to embellishments. We then switch and create something with a baggie that is not their own! This sounds like fun and we will have a bit of time to prepare between now and next week! Ok back to our regularly scheduled silence until Monday's inspiration piece!

Holiday Challenge - No Scrapping This week

So this week there will be no scrapping. My house is contaminated with the stomach flu. First we thought it was just Abs getting over that nasty cold she had..... But alas she went straight into the stomach flu and now Dave has it. ICK.

Anyway I didn't want to skip the challenge so I encourage you to make something holidayish and to give you a little inspiration I've brought you more cookies from TwoSugars. Their cookies are amazing! I think the penguin cookies from earlier in the year were from here as well. I couldn't resist the bunnies.

Or the beautiful Egg platter for Easter.

Of course if you don't want to make something Easter you certainly do not have to you can choose to be inspired by the colors or the way the cookies are on the platter. Or even just the ribbon. Hopefully it will just inspire you to create a pretty this week!

New Month New CHallenge!

I know it's going to be April Fool's Day and I should do something clever. However at the moment I'm not feeling very clever. Sooooo I'm going to go with things that make me happy instead. These colors make me happy, make me wish for spring to be here now and all this gloom to go away. In that line, I challenge you to create something using these happy happy colors! One or all of them it's your choice.

Last Weeks Challenge

Here's what I completed for Marnie's challenge last week. I hadn't planned on doing a layout it just kind of happened.

Holiday Challenge - A Bit Different

So this week we're going to do our holiday challenge a little different. I'm going to ask you to bring specific supplies and we will each create one item with those supplies. Here is your assignment if you choose to participate.

Bring with you -

1 Scrap of Holiday Paper preferably wrapping paper however I know some might have stored theirs in a not so easy to reach spot so I will accept a scrap of scrapbook paper.

1 piece of coordinating cardstock(any size)

3(can be more) holiday embellishments from the following list(they can all be the same you just need a minimum of 3)
Buttons
Stickers
Chipboard
acrylic shapes

1 Holiday greeting, this could be a stamp, rub-ons, stickers, cardstock titles etc. you get the idea you need a way to get holiday words on your project.

As always I am promoting the Christmas Holiday to get things done before the Late November/Early December rush. However if you would like to bring items from another holiday you are always welcome to do so. ST. Patties, Easter and Passover are our next big ones so you may choose to work on those or even 4th of July or Halloween it's totally up to you.

YUM!!!

Well it's that time of year!! Double Filet-O-Fish is back at McDonald's. Marc stopped there on the way home from basketball on Monday night and we had a late dinner. They were so YUMMY! And, the great part is that I can eat one and not worry about it affecting my blood sugar. Of course I can't have fries but it didn't even really bother me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and scrapping tonight!
